The world's most widely used platform and the second largest search YouTube is found culpable of deleting any comments which oppose the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

In a report form The Verge it was found that comments left under videos or in live streams that contain the words “共匪” (“communist bandit”) or “五毛” (“50-cent party”) were deleted in mere 15 Seconds.

The term "共匪" links to an insult dating back to China's National Party.

As a result of the outrage on Twitter YouTube released a statement stating that it was the result of an Error.

Upon review by our teams, we have confirmed this was an error in our enforcement systems and we are working to fix it as quickly as possible,” said YouTube spokesperson.

Although the company did not elaborate as to what caused such an issue.

It is still unclear if it was the result of an Error, as many folks on twitter point out that this has been going on as early as October 2019 which is quite some time for an Error like this to go untracred.
